Most of nokia mobile has symbian ( java version have S40 ) so it apply to your mobile also.
Phoenix 2010 is necessary as a part of downgrade procedure.

3.- RM-XXX – VERSION LOWEST, will be RM- 495 – lowest version in navifirm

      4.- RM-XXX – VERSION You want, will be RM- 495 V7.91

rest of procedure is same mentioned above

  6. Nokia N9 March 5, 2013 at 7:41 pm #

    Hi,
My nokia N9(switzerland – 059k748) turned off by itself one fine day and it went into a boot-loop(starts up with nokia logo and turns off, and that keeps going on like that). Then i thought of flashing the device. I used Navifirm 1.7 to download the respective firmware for my device. Then using flasher 3.12.1 i tried flashing it. But im getting errors in the process. i tried several times re-downloading the firmware and flashing again. I have even tried flashing it with another country specific firmware but had no luck. All i see from the first place now is a warning screen when the phone is started up or is plugged into the usb port.

Here is the error screen i see:
