The manufacturers of Akash tablet Datawind UK. have announced that they will sell the tablet in retail with the name UbiSlate7. It will be sold from November 2011 onwards. Only catch here is that it will be priced at 2,999 not 1,750 as for students.

There will be no android marketplace in the device for the moment, but it will come with prefetched apps of android, you can also download content from Govt. portal www.Sakshat.ac.in

    Akash tablet seems to be a dream. I had ordered one a couple of months ago. Have still not received it. Dose it actually exist is a big question.
